I really appreciate your response. However i've got another problem. I've done like you explained. But can you tell me a perfect formula so that the amount in salary is calculated based on his days worked. i need to calculate salary based on employees work days. The formula i'm using is as below. But the calculation result isn't as it should be. I first used a simple formula which obviously was wrong. But now again the below formula seems to b wrong. If you can tell me correct formula i'll be grateful.

Basic = (({Gross Breakup}*50/100)/[Days in Period])* ([Days Worked]+<Holiday_Days>+[Number of Day Offs])

    Waiting for your answer.
    Thanks in anticipation..

    Hi,

I'm sharing the excel sheet with you. However, we modify the formula in excel sheet whenever we require. I need this because we, at many times, first decide the gross or CTC, then break the salary components as some times candidate asks for specific salary figure in terms of take home or gross. We've to optimize the structure so that his take home is maximum and legal liabilities and IT are minimum. I've seen this flexibility in some companies where negotiation goes for salary.

    Hi,

Tuday's date is fine when we are entering todays date. But we've to enter date in past viz; Date of birth etc. However i'm looking forward to seeing the change in future versions as you've promised.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi,

Thanks. But my need is different. In our organisation we don't have fixed salary/slab for any position. We decide salary based on interview. We pay different salaries to different persons in same position. So it'll be difficult to make so many salary groups for each person. We decide a TAKE HOME SALARY, or GROSS SALARY for any person after interview. And based on this figure we optimize the breakup for tax saving or to let the person have maximum take home amount as per his requirement or request. I need something so that if we put a GROSS amount the rest components should be calculated based on my requirement, some components fixed some variable at particular %ge of the Basic or Gross etc.. I've one such thing in Excel where after entering the monthly gross or yearly gross amount the rest are calculated automatically. If i get the same in this software itself i don't have to open that excel file every time. One Payroll software i found on net, name of whom i've forgotten, claimed to have the same facility.

    Cheers to the developers.

    Dear Mr. Biju,

Thanks for the solution. But, i feel it should have been automatic. Means, salary for every month should be calculated automatically according to the person's attendance. Users should only give formula for the calculation of salary components. I'm sure, any new user would have the same confusion.

However, i've one more question. Suppose i want to calculate each component of the salary on some particular formula. If i don't want to put any fixed figure for Basic. Instead, i want the Basic to be 40-50% of Gross Salary and some of the components should be calculated at some %age of Basic, rest should be fixed, the balance amount should go to the Other Allowance component of salary. Can i do it? I've entered formula for components that are calculated based on Basic..

    Regards.

I tried opening one notification by clicking/double clicking on it. hahaha. Then i felt it'd be good if you add this facility there in the list itself (at software startup). And also if there's one place where the notification is listed and is flashing to remind the user of the things to take care of.

Sorry, writing in a hurry, so not elaborating here. I hope u understand what i'm talking about. If required i'll explain later.

    Hi,

I think there should be link in the listed items, in the notification window, leading to the corresponding action that is required to be taken by the manager/user. Like. employee birthday notification should lead to, if we click/double click on it, the page from where we can mail a birthday greeting (It'll be best if it's automatic, i mean birthday greeting message should automatically reach the employee with any defined text or ecard template) to the employee and a notification to all the concerned employee(defined, like his managers and colleagues i his department). Leave request notification should lead to, after clicking/double clicking, the page where we take of this application, ie; accept or reject the application. These are the two examples i've mentioned because i've these two things flashing in my system. There may be more. And there should be one common place, easily accessible, for these notifications so that we can check these and take suitable actions whenever required. In fact these should be flashing somewhere to constantly remind the user/manager for action.

    I hope i'm clear now.
