Hi Josephine,
You have two options for Employee Self Service. Both options can be used over the internet.
1. Thin client application – Ideal if you are using project management, or if your employee wants to access from one computer, many times.
2. ESS on the web – No installation required, just use a web browser.You can use either of these, or even both.
For eg: Your employees can use thin client application, within the office(this will be much faster). And web browser when they are at home.

Looks like your database server is not running.
Please try the following steps.
1. Right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Services
2. You will find two services from 'Firebird'
3. Right click on 'Firebird Server'. Click 'Start'
4. Right click on 'Firebird Server'. Click 'Properties' and set 'Startup type' to 'Automatic'.This should solve your problem. If it doesn't, please let us know.

This question is quite out of our topic. But I'll anwer it anyway, since you are an Lenvica HRMS user :)
The virus is called : WMI Sync-DB. And you should have a file in this path: C:\Windows\System32\wmisynd.exe
But you cannot find this file with your windows explorer, when the virus is active.
Try the following to remove the virus.
1. Goto Services. (Right click on 'My Computer' -> Manage -> Services)
2. Stop/Disable the services with similar names as 'WMI Sync-DB'
3. Restart your machine
4. Now, wmisynd.exe should not be visible in your task manager.
5. Go to C:\Windows\System32\wmisynd.exe, delete it yourself.This should solve your problem.

It's a secret, but I'll explain it for you ;D
Lenvica HRMS has an in-built tool called 'Attend Communicator'. The communicator's sole task is to talk to/listen to devices.
Devices are of several types. Some devices will inform the communicator when there is a new punch. Some others will not inform, but then communicator will talk to them in regular intervals to see if there is new data.
The communicator is intelligent enough to handle all these devices. The other part of Lenvica HRMS doesn't care much about the devices, but the data.
