Biometric Devices identifies employees with their unique physical characteristics. Widely used biometric devices for employee attendance are Face Recognition Devices, Palm Recognition Devices and Fingerprint Readers. When an employee identifies himself with his face, palm or fingerprint, the biometric device compares the data received with the previously registered templates in it’s database. If the device makes a successful match, it notifies the employee and also records the time of the event. If connected to an access control system, the biometric device opens the door lock for the employee to pass.
