It’s easy to setup a Time Attendance device. Just connect to LAN and Power, and you are done!

Time Attendance System

1. Power: The Time Attendance device connects to 220V Power supply through an adaptor. A power source should be available close to the proposed location of the device. There should not be any interruption in the power supply, so a UPS is recommended.

2. LAN: The device should be connected to the LAN so that the software can communicate with the device. The client should provide connectivity to the hub/switch/modem of the LAN with a network cable.

3. IP Address: The device should be provided with a unique IP address within the LAN. Consult your network administrator on this.

Choosing the location

1. The device should be installed at a location close to the entrance/exit, so that it’s convenient for employees to punch as they walk in/out.

2. It is recommended to fix the device at a distance of 4 Feet from the floor level.

Fixing the device

The device should be fixed on a wall firmly so that there are no shaking while punching. The fixing of the device will be the responsibility of the customer. The device is shipped with screws and fixtures required in the installation. The installation procedure requires drilling holes on the wall. Alternatively, the device can be mounted on a wooden plate which is fixed on a wall.

It is recommended to conceal the time attendance device in the wall or in a wooden box so that it’s not possible for users to unplug the Power or LAN cables from the device.

In a fingerprint time attendance system it’s recommended to register at least 1 finger from each hand. Fingerprint registration should be done carefully. The devices are capable of showing the quality of the registration. Ensure that the registration quality is close to 100%. If fingerprint registration is not done properly, there could be problems identifying, when the employee punches. If an employee continues to have problems punching, it’s recommended to delete the fingerprints and re-register again, ensuring good registration quality. In some cases, though very rare, the fingerprints may be impossible to be read. This can happen if the employees are working with chemicals, or if their fingers are too dry. In such instances, proximity(RFID) cards may be issued to those employees.
