A turnstile which is also called a baffle gate or turnstyle, is a form of gate which allows one employee to pass at a time. It can also be made so as to enforce one-way traffic of employees, and in addition, it can restrict passage only to people who conform to biometric identifications or proximity card identification. Thus a turnstile can be used in the case of restricted access to offices, factories etc, like to restrict access to authorized people, for example in the lobby of an office building. The turnstile restricts the access and allows entry of only authorised employees if integrated with a biometric device in which case we will be able to record the attendance of employees who accessed through the turnstile.
