      Hi,

      This Aarav from HR department. We are using Lenvica HRMS leave management software to track attendance and leaves of our employees. We have mainly three types of leave entitlements – Earned, Casual and Sick leave. Sometimes, employees need to take more time off than accrued. We used to consider this as loss of pay and used to deduct from his pay stub. Recently, management has taken decision to let employee possess negative leave balances. This is in case of casual leaves alone. They are entitled for 2 CLs per month. For some reasons, if any employee needs to take more than 2 CLs, then they are allowed to do so on permission and it will be treated as negative leave balance. It must become positive next month since we follow monthly entitlements. Is it possible in attendhrm leave management software to configure this?

      Yes, you can carry forward negative leave balances in Lenvica HRMS leave management software.

      Double click on ‘Casual Leave’ on ‘Attendance Types’, under module ‘General’. You can see option to carry forward negative values. Check mark it and save. Now, it will allow employees to consume more than the entitled or accrued count of casual leaves. The negative balance will get positive based on the accrual cycle. For example, if -1 is the current month casual leave balance, where an employee gets one casual leave credited to his balance every month, then his leave balance will become zero next month. In the month following it will become one. Refer screenshot below to see the option available in Lenvica HRMS to carry forward negative values.

      Our company leave period starts from January till december. Our management decided to change the leave period start from April. We already created entitlements for all employees in attendhrm from January. Now we need to change the leave period as from April and carry forward the leave balance upto March end to new leave period start date. Please guide me how to do it?

        Hello Maria,

        Before changing the leave period to April, you need to download the Leave Entitlement report for getting leave balance up to March end. Then change the leave period in leave module > leave settings. When you change the leave period, the entitlements will automatically transferred from January to December to April to March. So you will have to update the leave entitlements again. To update the leave entitlement, you have to import it. Using the downloaded leave entitlement report, prepare the import sheet.
